I'm getting stirred up!

What Does It Take to Stir You Up? Finding Your Inspiration in God Again
Have you ever had someone speak life into you at just the right moment? You know, that text message, phone call, or conversation that came exactly when you needed it most? That happened to me this week, and it got me thinking: when was the last time you felt truly stirred up by God?
We need to be inspired by God. What I do and why I do it are inspired by God. Because, can I just be honest with you? I can make a whole lot of money in another environment. In fact, I was making a whole lot of money in another environment, working in a secular world. I didn't quit my job because I didn't enjoy it or because they didn't pay me enough money. I quit my job because God inspired me to go and preach His word.
Remembering God's Immeasurable Power
In Ephesians 1:16-19, Paul writes something that I've been praying over you since I got here: "I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and of Revelation in the knowledge of Him... that you may know what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe."
Did you catch that? Immeasurable. You try to measure it, you can’t. There's no way you could get to the end of it. When I think I've figured out the limitations of God's power, He trumps it one more time. But listen to this - He says the immeasurable greatness of His power toward you. Toward you personally.
The Call to Stir One Another Up
This week, I got stirred up. Wednesday night, we had Bible study, Thursday and Friday, we had a prayer conference with 400 people packed in here. The walls were beginning to shake with the praise of God. And you know what I realized? God wants to do something incredible in our lives if we will just move.
Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to stir one another up to love and to good works, not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
I love that word "consider." It means to think deeply about it. Church, I want you to think about people individually and go, what can I do to stir them up? What needs to happen? Do they just need a little encouragement, or do they need someone to grab a spiritual jackhammer to break through the crusty layer on top of them?
Finding Your Shout Again
Can I be transparent with you? When I came here four years ago, God spoke into my life and said, "That church has lost its shout." I don't know where it went or when it was lost, but I'm still waiting for some of you to find it again. There's a shout that you need to find again.
Some of you right now are dealing with Jericho moments, and the one thing you need is a shout. When I begin to realize that the King of kings loves me, that greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world - that should produce something in me! “When all around me is sinking sand, on Christ the Solid Rock I stand. When I need a shelter, when I need a friend, I go to the Rock.”
It's Time to Step Up
Here's what God told me: there are a couple of you in this place who need to learn to step down - not in ministry, but in pride. You need to step down from that "I've arrived already" attitude and realize that if it wasn't by the grace of God, you would not be here today.
But for most of you, it's time to step in and step up. God has called you to do ministry. Yes, you. Every single person in the sound of my voice. The five-fold ministry - pastors, teachers, evangelists - we're supposed to equip the saints to do ministry. You are supposed to be doing the ministry.
What's it going to take? What song do we have to sing? Do I need to paint the church a different color? What is it that we have to do to inspire you, to show you that the King of kings wants to inspire you and lift you up?
Life Application: Becoming a Stirrer
START AT HOME
If you're a parent or grandparent, consider what you need to do to stir up your kids. The Word says to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). But that means you have to do something. You can't just send them to school and hope Sunday school does enough. Stop claiming the promises of God without doing the will of the Father.
LOOK AROUND YOU
Consider the people in your workplace, your neighborhood, and your daily life. God wants you to deeply think about them and ask, "How can I stir them up? How can I lift them up?" Maybe it's speaking a word of encouragement, maybe it's inviting them to church, maybe it's simply showing them the love of Christ through your actions.
STOP WAITING FOR CONFIRMATION
If you're waiting for the pastor or someone else to give you a prophetic word before you move, let me tell you something: God has already spoken in your life. The Holy Spirit has already given you direction. Stop waiting for confirmation from man and start walking in accordance with His plans and purpose.
Church, we're going places we've never gone before in 2026, but only if we're willing to be stirred up by God so we can lift others up. The harvest is plentiful, but the stirrers are few. Will you be one who gets inspired by God and then goes out to inspire others?
It's time to find your shout again. It's time to step in and step up. It's time to be stirred.
